Barrels will be available Saturday, April 27 (10 a.m. to noon) at the Waterloo Memorial Recreation Complex.

 

 

What can you do with these barrels?

  • get a great recycled rain barrel for your home and garden;
  • capture rain and save on water bills;
  • feed your plants rain water instead of chlorine and fluoride;
  • take better care of the environment AND sewer systems;
  • support MacGregor public school’s programs

  

Each 180 – 220 L (45 – 55 gallon) rain barrel comes fully equipped with a leaf and mosquito filter basket,

an overflow adaptor that permits multiple barrels to be connected in series, 1.2m of overflow hose

and a spigot that attaches directly to a garden hose.

 

The price is only $50 per barrel.

Biosolids Heat Drying Facility meeting

Plan to attend the Biosolids Heat Drying Facility meeting scheduled for Wed April 10th, 5:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. at Kitchener-Waterloo Bilingual School (600 Erb St West, Waterloo, N2L 2Z4)

It is VERY important for you and your neighbours attend and provide comments regarding the Region of Waterloo plan of building a Biosolids Heat Drying Facility at the Waterloo Waste Management Centre, 1005 Erb Street West. http://www.regionofwaterloo.ca/en/aboutTheEnvironment/biosolidsmasterplan.asp

Waterloo Region has identified the Erb Street landfill site beside Westvale community as one of two possible locations for a Biosolids Heat Drying Facility. Briefly, raw sewage from all Waterloo Region sewage facilities will be trucked to this drying facility to be reduced to dry sewage pellets.
